My Review of I Love to Tell the Story
In seminary, one of my favorite things was getting to know Christians from all walks of life and many church backgrounds. Fuller Seminary is a non-denominational evangelical school, so while I had many things in common with my classmates, I also had some very different experiences. Same thing when I talk with folks about what it was like to grow up in church in Southern California vs Texas or Georgia or Missouri. That’s probably why I was drawn to Susan Barnett Braun’s memoir about what it was like to grow up in church in a midwestern German Baptist family.
